My father Donn Parkinson Covey is the Marine without the hat. I don't know who the other person is.
I am also adding the early 1943 117th platoon graduation photo. (Donn Covey is in the 2nd row from top 5th from right side.)
My father was sent to New Zealand, then Tarawa, then Saipan/Tinian and finally to Nagasaki. He had enough points to be able to leave in January of 1946 to be separated from the service.
