"I thank God I was not one of those Marines sent ashore in that invasion.
We had 19 amtracs and crews of four men for each. All 19 went in that first day. That night, only one amtrac was left and only one member of that crew was left. They sent him back in after they repaired his amtrac. To this day, I wonder it that man survived."
