"There is a bit of humor that goes with these photos. Gerber was one of my friends and one day he asked where he could get someone to cut his hair. I told him my uncle was a barber and I could cut his hair. He said 'Okay.' He had a crew cut which was rather long. I took hand shears and went up the center of his head and left about a 3 inch gap all the way to the skull. Then I put the shears down and said, 'I quit, I can't cut hair.' He became furious and jumped up. We got in a fist fight. It ended up in a wrestling match. He broke my finger, but I got a scissor lock on him and knocked him out. Thank goodness because he was a very tough old German. He wasn't so friendly from that day on."
