PFC Lawyer was wounded in action on Tarawa. He recuperated at the Naval hospital in Hawaii and later rejoined his outfit. He was killed during the landing on Saipan. Lawyer was also awarded the Silver Star. His decoration was for action at Tarawa on 20 November 1943 and on Saipan 15 June 1944.
PFC Lawyer's family is seeking information about his service in WWII.
