"Memorial services for Marine Sgt. Gordon Rasmussen, who was killed on Tarawa, will be held in the Calvary Lutheran Church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon with the Rev. H. Irving Petersen officiating. Sgt. Rassmussen, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Rassmussen, Denmark, (Wisconson) graduated from the Denmark High School in 1937."As of 26 January 1944 Sgt. Rasmussen was listed as MIA. He was probably reclassified as KIA by March as reported in the Green Bay Press-Gazette. If any other information about Sgt. Rasmussen is known please send an email.
