Pvt. Milford Roe
Serial# 812320
"My uncle, Milford Roe, a Private, was killed on the first day of fighting 11/20/43. He drove an amphibious tractor and went in with the first wave which, as I understand it, was decimated by the unscathed Japanese shore batteries."
"Died of gunshot wounds and buried at sea at 1100 hrs. Sunday 21 November 1943."
Roe was probably in the 2nd Amphibious Tractor Battalion.
