Weapons Company 2/2
Positions on 20 November
This map was drawn up by two members of Weapons Company 2/2, Arnold Gladson and George Garden. Dexter Greer, one of those who made it across Betio, the Japanese had no idea that there were only 15 Marines on that side of the island that night and could have wiped them out. Dex says, "I wish there was some way to show or read the FEAR factor." He adds, "The most important word in giving a description of Tarawa is CONFUSION."
