Two screeenshots from a film shows the port side of LVT 9 and below the starboard. Both images were taken as the LVTs were forming up to make the run for the beach. The above image, just a few seconds later, shows how choppy the water was that morning.
Notes:
LVT 9 was launched from the USS Thurban and landed on Red Beach 1. Information on LVT 9 is not included in the LVT recovery record book so likely it was operational after the battle.
