"Remembering Tarawa" was a special section of the San Diego Press-Telegram published June 28, 1988 to commemerate the dedication of the Tarawa memorial. Included in these tweleve pages were many accounts from those violent and bloody days in Novemeber 1943 from both Naval and Marine personnel woven into one of the best short synopsis of the fighting.
